Balthier’s mannerisms seem to bear a striking resemblance to Han Solo from the Star Wars series, including having a partner who is not human. The Strahl is also similar to Han Solo’s ship, the Millennium Falcon.

I played the game and thought he was great. His lines made him awesome. Although the rabbit was a slut and was basically useless the whole game she was still a nonhuman companion. I never said she was as good as a wookie. nothing is as good as a wookie. But he is basically the Han Solo of Final Fantasy.
